About Farley Cricket Club

Farley Cricket Club is a friendly, welcoming village club, with big ambitions.

We have two sides playing in the Hampshire Cricket League every Saturday from the start of May until the end of August and a Wednesday night T20 team.

Thursday evenings at our beautiful ground are for our growing junior set-up, running the ECB All Stars programme plus our Fox Cubs U9 and hardball cricket coaching for older children. We also run a women’s softball cricket team on Monday evenings.

We benefit from the support of the Wiltshire Cricket Board and are proud that an impressive number of players have represented the county at junior levels and in the seniors (Over 50s, 60s and 70s) sides!

Our Values

Farley CC is a friendly village cricket club with traditional family values and a welcoming nature running through it’s core. We welcome people from all backgrounds and celebrate the fact that we come together regularly as Farley CC players and indulge in our shared passion for cricket.

We play to win, but with a strong belief in being competitive within the laws and spirit of the game.

We play with each other, for each other, with team spirit and a family style environment being central.

We develop and encourage our players both young and old so that we grow together as a club.

Our Ground

We play at Coronation Field in the village of Farley – a beautiful setting bordered by fields on three sides and offering views of Farley’s historic church and hospital.

Our Facilities

As well as the pitch, there is an all weather net that is available to use free of charge and a pavilion with changing facilities and a bar. Coronation Field belongs to the village, but the pitch is maintained by volunteers from within the club. We’re always keen to hear from anyone who would love to get involved in looking after the playing surface, facilities and hedges.

Meet the Foxes

Introducing the key members of our management committee who along with the team captains and vice captains ensure the smooth running of the club.

Ian Swain

Retired medical professor Ian has played for Farley since the 1980s as a prolific batsman and wily slow bowler. He also regularly plays for Wiltshire
Over 60s.

Andy Coveney

Possesser of a cover drive so cultured that Radio 4 have sought to profile it, Andy claims to have put his playing days behind him. We haven’t given up hope!

Iain de Weymarn

A left handed opening bat, with a famous sibling, Iain is also a key part of our junior coaching team.

Sam Golden

Junior Co-ordinator

A Farley resident – just a few doors down from the ground. Sam’s energy, dynamism and vision has transformed the junior set up. She’s now also a founder member of our women’s softball cricket team.
